THE FUTURES BAZAAR is a public imagination toolkit to make exploring times to come easier, more fun, and more common. Released by Situation Lab (publishers of The Thing From The Future) and the British Broadcasting Corporation, the kit has already been used by groups in various parts of the world, and recently won the APF’s inaugural Most Significant Futures Work award for Inclusive Foresight.

Heroine's Journey is a project aimed at democratising futures thinking - making it available to wider audiences, especially to young people. It utilises narrative foresight to critically evaluate existing and create new futures narratives. So far, three books have been published within the project: The Gold Maker, The Future Maker and The Peace Maker.

In this presentation, Dr. Seongwon Park from the National Assembly Futures Institute in South Korea presents his analysis of the reasons why the Korean government continues to promote economic growth as the national vision and the role of parliamentary foresight, APF Chair Shermon Cruz provides updates and an overview on government foresight in the Philippines, Rushdi Rahim from MIGHT Malaysia discusses foresight in the Malaysian government, and Cheryl Chung from Kantar Public in Singapore gives an overview of government foresight work in Singapore. Speakers also address selected questions from the audience.

Spiral to the Stars
Inspired by the book of Laura Harjo, Spiral to the Stars: Mvskoke Tools of Futurity, the APF Friends of Foresight held on August 20, 2021 wishes to reveal, discover, re-think and re-imagine professional foresight and futures thinking concepts and other emerging discourse and practice in foresight indigenization as we know it today. By providing a space to unpack and discuss indigenous narratives, tools, and inspirations, we open ourselves to heterogeneity and plurality of insights, experiences and stories on how futures and foresight are emerging and applied to different settings, cultures, societal and organizational contexts. The Spiral to the Stars session reflects on indigeneity in futurity, as friends share their perspectives, views, and experiences on the subject.
