Julie Friedman Steele, Board Chair, the World Future Society
Hello! I'm Dr. Liz Alexander, the co-founder and consulting futurist of Leading Thought, a firm that attracts clients who desire to achieve greater competitive advantage by becoming future-smart.
What I offer is an unusual blend of talent, skills and experience. I strengthen my futurist skills with a deep understanding of the strategic needs of business, especially as they relate to communicating insights and ideas. (I developed and taught the Strategic Communication Certificate Program at The University of Texas at Austin, where I earned my Master’s and Ph.D. in educational psychology.) I’m also the multiple awards-winning, best-selling author of 20 nonfiction books that, collectively, have sold over one million copies in 23 countries.
My specific futurist focus is the future of leadership, which will be the topic of my 21st book to be published in late 2017 or early 2018.
My passion and purpose is to help more people (from independent consultants to senior leaders in major organizations) think more clearly—and feel more confident—about the future by posing questions, engaging in research, and connecting present trends to preferred business and career outcomes. Because there's never been a more important time to make better decisions by planning and preparing for a broad range of contingencies.
What makes me so valuable is the ability to leverage what I've learned from decades of experience and involvement across many varied, impactful global engagements. Past clients include the British government’s Appeals Service (UK), Cathay Pacific Airways (UK), Financial Executives International (US), Founder Institute (India), Philips Electronics (Netherlands), Transamerica Retirement Solutions (US), and SenateSHJ (Australia).
I’m also a regular contributor to Fast Company magazine as well as a business publication in the U.S.
